Core Technology Molding

Core Technology Molding Corporation (CTM) was founded in 2006 in Greensboro, North Carolina. CTM is a world class injection molding facility serving industries that include: aerospace, defense, medical devices, automotive, gaming, biological pharmaceutical, and consumer goods, with customers located in over 150 countries. CTM provides products and solutions that are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2015 facility and has a certified Class 10,000 (ISO 7) and Class 1,000 (ISO 6) medical clean room.

Emerging Technology Institute

Emerging Technology Institute (ETI) was founded in 2016 in Red Springs, North Carolina. ETI develops, tests, and integrates emerging technologies to include Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), robotics, and Artificial Intelligence with the Soldier through an adaptable multi-domain training environment in order to counter emerging threats. The “heart” of ETI is the training facility which is located 32 miles southwest of Ft Bragg. ETI has a one of a kind indoor and outdoor facility consisting of 156,000 square feet of indoor space and over 43 acres of wooded training areas with two surveyed drop zones (DZ). ETI’s airspace is Class G with unrestricted flying and night flying waivers.

K2 Solutions Inc. was founded in 2003 and has grown its services and has taken strides to adapt to the ever changing needs of the U.S. military, law enforcement and commercial security. K2 holds many certifications relevant to its defense/security mission and is an Employee-Owned company based in Southern Pines, NC. The company has received accolades from the U.S. Military’s Special Operations Units and was recognized as the 2010 North Carolina American Legion Veteran’s Employer of the Year and the 2011 North Carolina Disabled American Veterans Employer of the Year.

Mills Manufacturing

Specializing in highly engineered, technical sewn products, Mills Manufacturing, in Asheville, has been a global leader in manufacturing military parachute systems and components for over 75 years. Serving all five branches of the United States Department of Defense and international allies, Mills is a trusted supplier of military parachute systems that include airborne troop parachutes, cargo parachutes, extraction parachutes, deceleration parachutes, emergency parachutes and other related ancillary items. All of the materials that go into Mill’s products are produced in the United States. Mills Manufacturing is one of only two parachute suppliers to the DOD.

As an established company, Mills Manufacturing has many strengths, especially in the manufacturing area. The products/parachutes are expected to deliver precious cargo (people and valuable equipment) safely to the ground 100% of the time. Emphasis is thereby placed on ensuring that both quality and customer satisfaction are at high levels at all times. The company uses Lean manufacturing and other internal methods to remain competitive in a market that is fiercely cost competitive.

Mills Manufacturing completed a Technology Driven Market Intelligence (TDMI) project led by RTI International. A transition was also made from the old ISO 9001 standard to the current ISO 9001:2015 QMS standard which allowed the company to satisfy demands for new military contracts and improve marketability for new products. Mills underwent a cybersecurity penetration testing project from a third party vendor and the company underwent a cyber-compliance assessment and met all NIST and DFARS requirements.

Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions

Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions (RYMS) was founded in 2008 as an expansion to Roush Yates Engines, the primary supplier of racing engines for Ford Motorsports in NASCAR. RYMS started off as a division of the company that was solely focused on high performance engine components, from R&D to production. Over the years, RYMS has leveraged the experience and culture of winning to evolve into a world-class provider of machined parts in the aerospace, defense, automotive, and medical industries. The company, located in Mooresville, North Carolina, delivers expertise in multi-axis and waterjet processing of metal and plastic parts with complex geometries. The company is a Tier 3 supplier to the aerospace and defense industries. Their target customers are Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and in some cases, the OEM manufacturer of the product for the industry.

Survival Innovations

Survival Innovations is a privately held company which was founded in 2004 and recently moved to its current location in Mills River, NC. Over the years, the company has grown its aviation life support equipment product line and adapted to the ever changing needs of the U.S. military. Survival Innovations personnel have received awards for innovative design, and the company owns or has direct access to over a dozen patents. Survival Innovations is registered to ISO 9001:2015 and holds Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) designation.

Survival Innovations is primarily a designer and manufacturer of aviation life support equipment whose capabilities include: precision commercial sewing, programmable sewing, manual and automated material cutting and component assembly. Flexible processes can accommodate short or long manufacturing runs. The company has experience working with a wide range of materials, from cotton, nylon and sheepskin to kevlar, nomex and naugahyde. Survival is currently undergoing an AS9100 project being delivered by IES to strengthen credentials to work in the DoD aerospace sector and increase opportunities with prime contractors.
