To earn OSHA’s certificate in Safety & Health Fundamentals for Construction (formerly the OSHA Public Sector Certificate), participants must complete a minimum of seven (7) courses, comprised of required and elective courses, that include a minimum of 68 instructional hours of training through OTI Education Center courses.
Required Courses for Construction
Participants must complete ALL three (3) Required Courses as listed below for a minimum of 39 instructional hours of training:
- OSHA 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction Industry
- OSHA 7500 Introduction to Safety and Health Management
- OSHA 7505 Introduction to Incident [Accident] Investigation
Elective Courses for Construction
Participants must complete a minimum of four (4) Elective Courses from the Construction list below, and include a minimum of 29 instructional hours of training:
- OSHA 521 OSHA Guide to Industrial Hygiene
- OSHA 2225 Respiratory Protection
- OSHA 2255 Principles of Ergonomics
- OSHA 2264 Permit-Required Confined Space Entry
- OSHA 3015 Excavation, Trenching and Soil Mechanics

- OSHA 3095 Electrical Standards

- OSHA 7110 Safe Bolting: Principles and Practices
- OSHA 7205 Health Hazard Awareness
- OSHA 7215 Silica in Construction, Maritime, and General Industries

- OSHA 7400 Occupational Noise Exposure Standards
