“Kata” is the Japanese word for “form”, this word is used mostly when talking about martial arts and describing the detailed way a group of people practice choreographed movements in unison in an effort to perfect them. Like martial arts, manufacturing techniques can be practiced to improve efficiency, this is where Toyota Kata comes in.
