Final Rule on Cranes and Derricks Used in Railroad Roadway Work

The U.S. Department of Labor and OSHA has issued a final rule which adds some exceptions when using cranes and derricks in railroad roadway work. These new measures are intended to maintain the safety of workers while also sustaining efficiency.

OSHA and the North American Meat Institute have joined forces to provide COVID-19 safety information, resources and training to the meatpacking industry hit hard by the pandemic. 

 

OSHA Outreach Trainer Contact Information

An important responsibility for OSHA Outreach Trainers is to ensure that their contact information is up to date with their current Authorizing Training Organization. In fact, this is documented on page three of the Outreach Training Requirements. Accurate contact information allows Southeastern OTIEC to quickly reach a trainer for any critical program updates and other essential purposes.

 

Extension for OSHA Outreach Training Alternative Training Methods

OSHA has given an extension for Outreach Trainers to submit exception requests for alternative training methods (such as instructing virtually) for classes beginning before July 31, 2021. Please email us at southeasternoti@ncsu.edu for further information.
