Robert Wilson is a Safety and Health Specialist at NC State University Industry Extension Services where he assists North Carolina businesses with OSHA Compliance, workplace safety and health program development and training. As an instructor for the Southeastern OTI Education Center, Robert teaches open enrollment courses in a variety of safety and health topics. Prior to joining IES, Robert spent 12 years in safety and health roles for local and state government agencies including the NCDOL Occupational Safety and Health Division. This time in the public sector provided extensive experience with OSHA general industry and construction regulations as well as EPA, DOT, NFPA, emergency management and risk management. Robert is an authorized OSHA Outreach trainer for general industry, has earned the Public Sector Manager of Environmental Safety and Health (PS-MESH) certificate and a B.S. in Environmental Health from Western Carolina University. When not working, Robert enjoys spending quality time with his family, cooking, gardening, and woodworking.
