Strategic Initiatives
The implications and potential benefits of additive manufacturing (3D printing) for our military are both widespread and significant. 3D printing has the ability to put much needed repair parts in the hands of our military maintenance personnel, expediting mission critical repairs that keep our armed forces and their equipment ready. In addition, cybersecurity must remain a top priority as 3D printing and additive manufacturing become more commonplace throughout the Department of Defense (DoD).
Additive Manufacturing
Additive Manufacturing (AM) is the term used to describe the technologies that build 3D objects by adding layer-upon-layer of material—whether the material is plastic, metal or concrete.
Cybersecurity: DFARS Cybersecurity Requirements and CMMC
If your company provides products being sold to the Department of Defense (DoD), you are required to comply with the minimum cybersecurity standards set by DFARS. The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) serves as a quality management system for cybersecurity for DoD acquisition.
