Bio
Jennifer Fielder serves as the NC State Industry Expansion Solutions (IES) regional manager for the southwest region representing Northern Mecklenburg county, Cleveland and Gaston counties.
Jennifer has many years of experience collaborating with local community colleges and industry sectors to create economic solutions for the state of North Carolina. Notably, Jennifer has been recognized for her support of employers and stakeholders within the manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, biotechnology and Information technology fields.
Before joining IES, Jennifer advanced economic development with the North Carolina Community College System Office and ApprenticeshipNC, creating and promoting apprenticeship programs statewide focusing on the Piedmont-Triad and North Central prosperity zones. In this position, Jennifer paired manufacturers and other businesses with community colleges establishing apprenticeship pathways to target workforce challenges, create talent pipelines, and generate jobs locally.
Jennifer developed a passion and expertise for cultivating diversity and access to work-based learning programs in this role and strived to increase options for youth apprenticeship, students with disabilities, females in non-traditional careers, justice-involved individuals and other underrepresented populations.
She became an examiner on the 2023 Board of Examiners of the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence.
Jennifer has an MA in Technical Writing from East Carolina University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
