RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA – CommonWell Health has attained Milestone 2 status from the North Carolina Performance Excellence Program. The program, facilitated by NC State’s Industry Expansion Solutions (IES), is aimed at improving the performance of organizations across North Carolina.
IES recognized CommonWell Health for its numerous commitments to high standards of quality, including the deployment of a comprehensive framework used to develop a highly focused strategic plan and resource alignment; a strong focus on patient requirements; the documentation of clearly defined processes with cross-functional collaboration; and increased employee involvement with strong leadership commitment.
This recognition marks the first time a community health center has received this achievement in North Carolina. It highlights the diligence and resources CommonWell Health has devoted to its performance excellence journey, which started in 2015. The results demonstrated a more engaged workforce, increased profitability and growth and more satisfied patients. CommonWell Health received its Milestone 1 award in 2015.

The Performance Excellence Program, facilitated by NC State’s Industry Expansion Solutions, is aimed at improving the performance of organizations across North Carolina. Modeled after the National Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award, organizations progress through milestones on their continuous improvement journey in pursuit of the only award recognized by the President of the United States for Performance Excellence.
