A Letter from the Director
Stepping out of our comfort zone can be daunting—but dipping our toes in new waters seems to be the norm for safety and health professionals like us! Learning new regulations or changes to existing regulations and identifying methods to correct potential hazards is necessary for continually improving your program. There are a couple of new opportunities for you to consider as part of your learning process:
- Manufacturing employs more than 460,000 workers in the state of North Carolina and the upcoming mfgCON on September 19-20, 2017 offers best practices, practical advice and helpful tips for creating a safer, more efficient and more profitable manufacturing sector. While you’re there, meet expertsHolli Singleton and Charlie Parrish for customized advice on environmental, health and safety issues.
- Now is the time to increase your awareness for cybersecurity and become part of a team to protect critical infrastructure. By the end of the 2017 calendar year, the Department of Defense will require suppliers to comply with a set of security requirements. Learn about these requirements and simple concepts to secure your business by attending one of our fall cybersecurity workshops.
Wishing you success,
